IT'S RAINING UKULELES! is an event for all ukulele enthusiasts from beginner to advanced players. Here's an opportunity to connect with the ukulele community, attend classes, play with others in jam sessions and perform ensemble works with the other participants. The ensemble music will be made available with beginner, intermediate and advanced parts for each. You will be contacted by email ahead of the event with the links so that you'll have plenty of time to download the music, choose your parts and prepare for the big day.
The event proceeds will benefit RAIHN (Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network) an organization made up of over 40 faith communities, whose mission it is to provide shelter and services to homeless families and to help them attain sustainable housing. RAIHN is an affiliate of the national organization Family Promise. To learn more go to raihn.org.
During the registration process you will have an opportunity to select the classes you are interested in attending (at no additional charge). Class descriptions can be viewed by clicking the tab at the top of the site. Every attempt will be made to schedule the classes to allow participants to attend their preferences.
If you choose to order an event T-shirt please pay for it by making a $12 donation per shirt on the site. Select yes when asked if you would like to make an additional donation (just prior to choosing your size) and enter $12.
You have the ability to register additional participants. Class and T-shirt selection questions will pop up for each person registered and can all be paid for in a single transaction. If you need to use your e-mail address for the other folks you are registering you must click the box that says "I will manage this person's page". Otherwise the site will require a unique address for each registrant.
Please note: you'll be asked to enter a fundraising goal during the registration process. Just enter "0" to proceed with registration.
Your ukulele(s); music stand; and printouts of your ensemble music. We strongly urge you to label your stand and anything else you bring to the event.
If you find you are not able to attend the festival, refunds are available by request up to 2 weeks before the event. As the event is a charity fundraiser, a donation of all or part of your refund is an option.
